This short letter is packed with life-changing truth. It lays a foundation of who Jesus is, explains our new identity in Him, and gives practical instructions on how to live out that identity. A Guide to the Journey
What if the secret to a transformed life wasn't found in a set of rules, but in a revealed mystery? The book of Colossians paints a beautiful, magnificent picture of Jesus, showing us that He is supreme over everything. It pulls back the curtain on the mystery of "Christ in you, the hope of glory," and shows how this truth changes the way we live.

The Supremacy of Christ
Colossians 1 opens with a prayer of thanksgiving that God would fill us with the knowledge of His will. Paul then paints a marvelous picture of Christ’s supremacy. Paul reiterates his mission, which is to present the Word of God in its fullness, a mystery hidden for ages. This mystery is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Life in Christ
Colossians 2 explains the mystery of Christ. We are reminded of Christ’s glorious victory on the cross, where He completely annihilated all powers that accused and opposed us, including the written code and our sin so we are to put aside principles and rules based on human teachings and commands and live by faith.

Put on the New Self
Colossians 3 reminds us to set our hearts on things above as we have died with Christ to the things of this world. Paul instructs us to put on our new self, which is being renewed in the knowledge and image of our Creator. Paul then gives practical ways in how to live this out and instructions for family life.

The Mystery of Christ
Colossians 4 wraps up with instructions on prayer. Paul reminds us to be devoted to prayer, praying that the message of Christ is presented clearly. We are to make the most of every opportunity by speaking to each other with grace in our conversations. Paul closes the letter with a final greeting to the church from others who partner with him.
