“Brothers, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written you only a short letter. I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you. Greet all your leaders and all God’s people. Those from Italy send you their greetings. Grace be with you all” (Hebrews 13:22-25)

There is something deeply moving about reading the final lines of a heartfelt letter from a good friend. You savor those last few words, knowing they carry the weight of everything said before them. As we reach the very end of the book of Hebrews, the writer leaves us with exactly that kind of closing message.

He writes: “Brothers, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written you only a short letter. I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you. Greet all your leaders and all God’s people. Those from Italy send you their greetings. Grace be with you all” (Hebrews 13:22-25).

At the close of this marvelous letter, the author asks us to simply pay close attention to the truths he just shared. The entire book focuses on one central theme: Jesus, and how He is the absolute guarantee of a new and better promise from God.

Throughout the earlier chapters, the author walked us through the fundamental principles of our faith. He explained Christ’s ultimate superiority, His active role in our salvation, and His ongoing work as our eternal High Priest. He showed us how a perfect sacrifice finally guaranteed our redemption. 

This book ends with a passionate call to continue in faith. The writer cites examples from the faithful men and women who walked this path long before us. We are reminded to look directly to Jesus as our ultimate example so we do not grow weary when life gets hard.

It is easy to feel worn down by the heavy demands of daily life. When the days feel long and your circumstances feel overwhelming, where do you look for strength? What an amazing story of God’s love we find here—a love that reaches right past our difficult circumstances and pulls us closely to Him.

After sharing a brief update about their friend Timothy, the writer closes with a simple, yet profound charge: “Grace be with you all.”

Here is a beautiful truth: grace is not just a polite way to sign off a letter. God's grace is His active favor and spiritual blessing resting directly on your life. It is the quiet strength that sustains you when your own strength runs out.
